Texas v. Kennedy FREE Digital Download
This FREE printable digital download gives a brief overview of Texas v. Kennedy (formerly Texas v. Becerra), a current lawsuit filed with the intention of attacking the integration mandate of Section 504, which protects the right of disabled people to live, learn, work, and thrive in their communities instead of institutions. The integration mandate was upheld by the Supreme Court in the Olmsted decision. It is important to note that the US Department of Justice released a 39 page memo containing their slip opinion on the Olmsted (you can find my free resource on that here ) seeking to further weaken the legal protections of the integration mandate while the Department of Education announced their plan to move OCERS (Office of *Accessible Education & Rehabilitative Services) to HHS and OCR (Office of Civil Rights) to the DOJ (you can find my free resource on that here) The latest update on this lawsuit (as of June 20th) is included.
